Davis ends Season on a High
The final fixtures of the season were played over the last two weeks at the Machrihanish Golf Club in the Autumn Meeting and the October Medal.
The man on form was Mark Davies with back to back wins over the fortnight to have a strong finish to his season and move into the winter playing off a handicap of 5.
In the Autumn Meeting over the September weekend a two under par outward set up a score of 72-7=65 for Mark to take the win over John Rennie, who has also had a good season. John’s 75-8=67 was good enough to be runner up and add another voucher to his tally for the season after getting to the final of the McDiarmid Cup, and a recent win in the John McLean competition.
Third place went to P Martin with a 75-6=69.
Despite the imminent arrival of a new addition to the McMillan household, George McMillan kept his concentration and picked up the scratch prize with a 69. It was all pars on the way round apart from a birdie at the 14th to finish one under.
October Medal Results

Div 2: Andrew Anderson 83-16=67
Div 3: Bob Tait 92-20=72
