The Carskiey Cross and April Medal was played on 5th April and was won by reigning club champion, Oliver Armour, with a par round of 70. Playing off scratch, Oliver's matching nett score of 70 was enough to take the honours by virtue of the inward half count back from Owen Morgan. Clearly this early in the season Oliver's practice is already paying dividends.

The winter league play-off took place the following day and was won by Owen Morgan and Ian McGougan with a score of 3 up against bogey. The winning pair won by virtue of the count back rule pipping Stephen Kelly and David Wallace into 2nd and new captain, David Rankin and his vice captain, Graham Anderson, into 3rd. All three teams finished on 3 up.

This weekend sees Machrihanish host the Argyll & Bute county matchplay championship.
On Sunday 13th April Machrihanish play Dunaverty at Dunaverty in the first leg of the McNeill Cup with tee off at 9.30am.
