McFadyens Contractors Am-Am

Twenty three teams battled it out in the McFadyens Contractors (Campbeltown) Limited, in association with Keyline, sponsored Am-Am on Saturday 19 th September.

The event which is open to gents and lady members of Machrihanish Golf Club, Dunaverty, Carradale, Tarbert, Lochgilphead and Machrihanish Dunes golf clubs, involves teams of four players with each team having a minimum of two Machrihanish GC members. The format being the two best nett scores from each hole.

The weather conditions were ideal for golf which was reflected in the excellent scoring. There was a really close finish with the top seven teams separated by only two shots. The victorious team of visitors, all Machrihanish GC members, were John McNaughton, Jim Green, Dougie Bryce and Ronnie Sommerville who scored a combined total of 124 to win on the count back rule (better inward half) from locals Graham McMillan, Ranald Watson, Cameron McGeachy and Robert Coffield.

At the prize giving, the golf club Captain, Graham Anderson, thanked all the competitors for talking part and the sponsors, in particular McFadyens Contractors (Campbeltown) Limited, for their support. Tom Millar (Director) presented the prizes and pledged the company's continued sponsorship of the event for next year.
