Machrihanish Ladies' Section

           Ideals                  Organisation               Events

Machrihanish Ladies' Section believes that there is much more to being a member than just taking part in their numerous competitions. That's why they organise a variety of fun events throughout the year. If you are not interested in competing, you won't be alone as a Lady Member.

In particular the Saturday Stableford Friendly, which takes place on non-competition (Out of Season) Saturdays, and the Tuesday Greensome Friendly, which takes place on "In Season" Tuesdays, are chances for new members and old hands alike to meet and risk 50 pence on the outcome. Both are played on the 9 hole Pans Course and the winner takes all! Just turn up at the Ladies' Clubhouse just before noon for the Satuday Stableford or just before 18:30 for the Tuesday Greensome and take part in the fun. If you don't have a handicap don't worry, you can either start on your last handicap or 36 whichever is lower, but if you win the pot, you will be encouraged and helped to get a handicap!

It's fair to say that the majority of lady members are 9 hole members, but a growing and significant minority have become 27 hole members enjoying golf on both courses. Most Ladies' competitions are played over 2 rounds of the Pans Course allowing all lady members with a handicap to compete.

Machrihanish Ladies are actively looking for new members, so whether you want to play competative golf, simply enjoy a leisurely round with your new friends, or both, download an application form by clicking on the link at the bottom of the page. You can check out the membership classes available on the Membership Fees page.

The Lady Captain, Vice Captain and members are looking forward to meeting you.
